We were alerted to respond for the report of a house on fire with entrapment at 917 Copley Avenue in Waldorf.  Truck 1, E12, Chief 1 and Chief 1A responded with 7 volunteers.  First arriving units from Waldorf found smoke showing from a single family, split foyer dwelling.  Truck 1 arrived and forced entry for the engine companies, and then began an aggressive search effort for the reported trapped occupants.  E12 arrived and took a side Charlie position and advanced a line through the basement entrance to extinguish the room off in the Delta Quadrant.  The primary and secondary searches proved negative due to the fact that the occupants had jumped out windows prior to the arrival of the FD units.  All units were held on the scene for 2 hours completing salvage, overhaul, and assisting the Fire Marshal.  The units returned to La Plata at 1030 hours.

Members in the station were monitoring the county radio activity when they heard Communications contact Waldorf RS3 and advise them that they were dispatching a first due house fire for them.  Knowing the area, the members mounted the Truck and started North.  The dispatch was for a report of a house on fire at 3245 Indian King Court.  First arriving RS3 found smoke showing from the front and fire showing from the rear of a single story duplex.  The Truck and Chief marked on the scene seconds later and assisted the engine companies with opening up, searching and venting the fire building and the exposure.  Chief 1 was assigned the Interior division and led companies in both strucures.  Command held Co. 3, 12, and Truck 1 for salvage and overhaul operations after the investigation was complete.  The Truck and Chief returned to La Plata around 1830 hours with no injuries from the fire ground, just a little bit frozen.  Good Job to all on a cold and very windy day.

We were alerted to respond for the report of a house on fire at 7362 Woodhaven Drive in La Plata.  E11, E12, Truck 1, Tanker 1, Chief 1A, and Chief 1B responded with 13 volunteers.  First arriving Chief 1A found a single story, single family structure with smoke showing, and established the Command.  Command quickly interviewed the homeowner who stated that the fire was in the basement.  Due to not basement access from the exterior E11 advanced a line down the interior stairwell while E102 held the first floor.  E11's crew found a living room off in the D quadrant of the basement and extinguished the same.  Truck 1 with Chief 1B were assigned to open up and vent the basement for E11.  Searches were completed by Truck 1 and Squad 10 which all proved to be negative.  E102 confirmed no extension to the first floor in the D quadrant.  With no extension found, and all searches negative, Command scaled back the incident to Co. 1 and 10 to await the investigator.  The FM arrived and determined the cause, and then turned the scene back over to the crews to finish overhaul.  All units were released by 1600 hours with no injuries to the members or civilians.  Excellent Job to all of the members that operated on this incident.
